Meet the MicroTally® MicroBroom™ Sampler — a penetrative sampling tool purpose-built for preharvest Romaine lettuce, designed to reach the interior of the head where pathogens are most likely to hide. Used with an extension handle for stoop-free collection in the field, the MicroBroom™ Sampler delivers aggregated, representative samples that match or exceed traditional tissue recovery, without the back-breaking labor of manual grab sampling.

Sample collection occurs as the MicroBroom™ is inserted into the interior of each Romaine head and scrubbed for 10 seconds, transferring microbial material to the sterile, non-woven sampler. Mounted on an extension handle, the sampler lets technicians work upright across multiple heads, without kneeling or bending.
