The MicroTally® MicroCap™ Sampler is designed for aggregated sampling of cut and diced produce directly at the multihead weighing machine. By fitting over the cone of the weigher, the MicroCap™ captures finished product as it passes over the dispersion top and into the individual pocket scales, providing a representative, process-integrated sample without disrupting production flow.
MicroCap™ Samplers are available in two center hole sizes (6″” or 8″” diameter) to accommodate a variety of cone weighing machine dispersion tops and cone sizes. They are commonly utilized for detecting Salmonella, Shiga toxin-producing E. coli (STEC), E. coli O157:H7, and Listeria, as well as indicator organisms for finished product testing of fresh produce.
Both the MicroCap™ Sampler and its included sample bag undergo sterilization after manufacturing, ensuring sample integrity from collection through lab processing. After sampling, the MicroCap™ can be returned to the provided bag for cultural enrichment. The bag’s wired seal design safeguards contents while allowing effortless opening and closing throughout the sampling process.
